Hawaii private sailing charter

Any occasion is a great one to get out sailing on Hawaiian waters to enjoy some relaxing and refreshing ocean time. Especially here in Hawaii. The air is balmy and year-round trade winds provide Honolulu with wonderful sailing conditions

Don’t dream your life, live your dream

Our most popular boat tours are certainly the private yacht charter, weddings, anniversaries and sunset sailing cruises. In addition, sailing lessons, birthdays and corporate adventures await.

While sailing in Honolulu we often see Hawaiian green sea turtles lazing in the sun, dolphins jumping the bow, whales (winter only) spouting off to starboard, and the stunning shine of Venus at sunset.

5 best Hawaii private sailing charter ideas

  • You want to treat your family to a private boat tour while vacationing in Hawaii. How better than to choose a private sailing charter to keep your family safe and Covid-free. Not to mention experiencing the pure joy of sailing‼
  • At sea, on your Hawaii private sailing charter, you find a different and very unique way to see the island of Oahu. Sometimes “the best way to see Waikiki is from a distance”. Clients always chuckle and agree!!. Sit back, relax and take in the beautiful views of Oahu and Diamond Head. On clear days, far in the distance, you can see Molokai and Lanai.

You can’t bring your boat with you on vacation

5 best Hawaii sunset cruise ideas

Honolulu sunset sailing; a beautiful time of day to be on the water. What can be more romantic than sunset aboard a sailboat in the pacific ocean. You’ll want to experience a sunset cruise on your vacation in Honolulu. Here is my recommendation on the 5 best Hawaii sunset cruise ideas.

Honolulu’s best sunset cruise

  1. Have you ever seen the green flash? On your private sunset sail, this may well be what captures your joy the most. There are theories about what makes the green flash. Check them out online. I have seen more than my share of this delicious phenomena on numerous sunset sails.
  2. The other evening my charterer pulled off an especially perfect surprise sunset cruise for his girlfriend. She had no idea she was about to go sailing and had always expressed a desire to be on a private sail boat/ a private boat tour. It was with teary eyes she climbed on board.
  3. Of course, saying “I do” is particularly romantic at sunset. A private yacht, just the two of you and the captain. YES, this is the perfect reason to choose a sunset cruise with Sail Blue Hawaii.
  4. A life celebration/ ash scattering is particularly special in the easy sunset hours. A sunset sail with family and friends will stay in your mind forever as you remember and celebrate your loved one.
  5. Of course, you need no reason at all to choose a Hawaii sunset cruise. It is the best time of a day. Sail out there and enjoy all that Hawaii’s beauty has to offer.

Call Sail Blue Hawaii today and sign up for your own private sunset cruise. If you are especially lucky, because of the time of year, your private sunset cruise may well turn into whale watching! It could well be the highlight of ANY vacation.

Hawaii ash scattering at sea

Recently, a grieving family called me to see if it was a possibility to scatter their loved ones ashes at sea in Hawaii. YES, this is a wonderful way to memorialise your special person. There is nothing more healing than being out on the ocean to celebrate this momentous occasion.

Life Memorial at sea, Oahu, Hawaii.

Not only were we blessed with a beautiful water day, a mum and calf humpback whale showed up to give an extra blessing. An unexpected whale watching cruise absorbed the sadness of the occasion and the family on board felt truly blessed:

“Dear Capt Gaelyn,

We have all said that his farewell could not have been more perfect even if we had scripted the event.  It was so peaceful and perfect for each of us to have our intimate moments with him then let him go.  I know that he is now exactly where he wanted to be. That is a huge comfort.  We are all re-charging our Aloha spirit for our return to the mainland.  You will never know how very much we appreciate how perfectly you aided our final farewell to our Bill. Thank you is inadequate but all we can offer.”

Let’s go sailing Oahu, Hawaii

Kaikiwi sails from Oahu’s south shore. You will embark at Kewalo Basin boat harbor, not far from Waikiki beach hotels. We sail past beautiful coastline in the cobalt blue blue waters of our Pacific. The south shore is the protected side of Oahu: calm and crystal clear, making it the perfect sailing destination.

Why Go Sailing in Oahu?

Common marine wildlife sightings on Oahu are for example, Hawaiian green sea turtles, honu, dolphins, nai’a, and humpback whales, kohola (in winter season only). In addition, flying fish, malolo are some of the critters we may see as we sail.

Incredible Sights While Sailing

Beautiful breathtaking views of Diamond Head are just one of the highlights while sailing Oahu. On clear days, although far in the distance, Molokai and Lanai can sometimes be seen from the island of Oahu. This is not destination sailing, destination is sailing!
