Hawaii sunset fireworks cruise

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA! Every Friday evening off of Waikiki we have a very awesome fireworks event. Sail with Sail Blue Hawaii and experience your very own romantic sunset cruise followed by fireworks.

5 great reasons to choose a sunset fireworks cruise in Hawaii

  1. Celebrate a birthday. Nothing could be more special than to see the sun going down followed by fireworks while you are sailing your birthday cruise.
  2. Propose to your intimate other. If you want to wow him/her with a moment to last a lifetime, choose the sunset. Add to that, the city lights, and you have a moment that will last a lifetime. How can they possibly say anything but “YES!”
  3. Say “I DO”! What could be more romantic than having your wedding at sea. After your nuptials, the captain will sail you into the sunset. Do this on a Friday and stay out longer to watch the fireworks.
  4. Full moon cruise. Enjoy a full moon/ sunset/ city lights/fireworks cruise in Honolulu. It will be unforgettable.
  5. You don’t need a reason to sail a sunset fireworks cruise while in Hawaii. Just be there and the spectacular moments will be with you forever.

Your Hawaii Whale Watch

This has been a busy week for our humpback visitors as the season winds down for a Hawaii whale watch. I prefer to call it a “whale sail”: we set sail with the hope of seeing these gentle leviathans cruising our waters. February and March are the best for Oahu. The females come to the Lahaina area to have their calf and re-mate before heading back to their Alaska feeding grounds. We have the fortune of seeing mums and calves playing and gaining strength in our Waikiki waters before their 3000 mile trip north.

What time of day should we schedule our whale watch?

Because this is custom sailing, and humpback whales do not have a schedule, we can sail any time of day you want and whatever length of time you wish. Our islands are most consistently graced with trade winds so any time is a good time to go sailing…✨book a SUNRISE cruise, a morning or afternoon day-sail, or our most popular SUNSET cruise ✨ It is all good for a whale sail.

Will we see marine life other than humpback whales?

“Kaikiwi” sails from Oahu’s south (protected) shore, not far from Honolulu, past beautiful coastline in the cobalt blue blue waters of our Pacific.  Wildlife such as green sea turtles, “honu”, dolphins, “nai’a”, humpback whales, “kohola” (in winter season only), and flying fish, “malolo” are some of the critters we may see as we sail. Beautiful views of Oahu, Diamond Head and, on clear days, far in the distance, Molokai and Lanai can sometimes be seen. Please understand this is not “destination” sailing.  “Destination” is sailing.

Hawaii Ash Scattering

Hawaii has a strong spiritual energy both on and off the ocean so it is no surprise that a farewell at sea is a healing and soothing way to help say goodbye and help you to have strength as you begin this change.

Call for your custom ash scattering at sea.  Let us know about your loved one and how you want to celebrate their life.

When should we sail?

A gentle sunrise cruise, a day-sail, an awesome sunset cruise. All are options for your private Hawaii ash scattering. Remember your loved one as your captain sails your private sail boat upon Oahu’s stunning azure waters. Take your time, there is no rush.

Gone from my Sight

“I am standing upon the seashore. A ship spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.

She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then, someone at my side says: “There, she is gone!”

“Gone where?”
Gone from my sight. That is all.  She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in me, not in her.

And just at the moment when someone says, “There, she is gone!” there are other eyes watching her approach and other voices ready to take up the glad shout:
“Here she comes!”
And that is dying.

– Henry Van Dyke, a 19th Century clergyman, educator, poet, and religious writer

Relieve your guilt by getting your work done early and grabbing your loved ones for a spectacular Honolulu sunset cruise on a private sailing charter at the end of your day. Hawaii is fast becoming the most popular post-pandemic place to be whether you are choosing to spend a month or two here to tele-work or bringing the family for a much-needed breather. While you are here there are so many reasons to get out on the water. Go ahead and treat yourself: de-stress and take some healing time that only “being out there“ can offer.

WHAT ABOUT THE WEATHER?

“It’s too windy,” you say.  Captain says, “no wind, no sail”:-) Hawaii is typically a windy place, and this week has been no exception.  That being said, Captain has many hidden talents, including an easy way of trimming the sails and changing the sail plan to keep you comfortable and having fun. Overall, your private sailing experience on our Honolulu sunset cruise is of the most importance to us!
