The Perfect Hawaii Sunset Cruise Experience

I was going to write about something else this week, but last night changed my mind during the most perfect Hawaii sunset cruise. What made it perfect? The conditions were awesome with the 12-18 knot trade winds that Hawaii is known for. But so much more than that: a husband wishing to celebrate his wife and mother’s day with their adult children. It was a surprise for her but not the family. They were all “mum”, so to speak, and did brilliantly. “Mum” did not know what was happening until she was driven to the harbour and walked to Kaikiwi, Sail Blue Hawaii’s beautiful Beneteau 42. This was one beautiful day to sail around Diamond Head into Maunalua Bay. My guests got the last good sailing in before Oahu was rocked by a decent winter storm. Not all Sou’Westers are bad 😎. We were lucky. What a peaceful time.
