Hawaii Whale Watch

Tis the season for a Hawaii whale watch. I like to call it a “whale sail’. We’ll set sail, on your own private charter. If we find whales, that is a bonus!. 2023 has been an abundant season. Every time I go out, there are whales close by. Usually a mum and a calf.

What type of whales do we see?

Humpbacks are Hawaii’s most famous tourists, making their annual 3,500 mile trip from Alaska to the islands each December through April.  They come to the islands to have their young and to mate. We’ll set sail and hope to find these gentle leviathans. Sign up today for you Hawaii whale watch.

This is what greeted us at the top of Kewalo channel!

5 best reasons for a private sailing charter in Hawaii

Why choose a private sailing charter in Hawaii?

  • With CoVid still around, you have the safety and security of your own bubble while sailing the pristine pacific waters.
  • Sunset cruising is romantic. Don’t sign up with the masses. Choose a private sunset cruise to celebrate being together.
  • With a private sailing charter you have a custom cruise. Because this is custom sailing, we can sail any time of day you want and whatever length of time you wish. Our islands are most consistently graced with trade winds so any time is a good time to go sailing…✨SUNRISE, morning, afternoon, SUNSET.✨  It is all good.
  • Perhaps you have just flown in from the east coast. You are awake way before Waikiki is stirring. Call Sail Blue Hawaii and get out on the water to see the sunrise over Diamond Head. This will be something you remember for a lifetime.
  • You really don’t need a reason. But you will remember your Hawaii private sailing charter. It may well be the highlight of your Hawaii vacation.
what a way to start the day

Private Sailing into the New Year

A great way to celebrate the New Year is on a private sailing charter. Your host: Sail Blue Hawaii LLC. Your vessel: “Kaikiwi”. Kaikiwi is a 42-foot Beneteau 411 and a wonderful sailing machine for Hawaiian waters. She is well proven: Capt. Gaelyn sailed her home from Mexico with two crew and was delighted with the way she handled in all conditions.

Where do we sail?

“Kaikiwi” sails from Oahu’s south (protected) shore, not far from Waikiki, past beautiful coastline in the cobalt blue blue waters of our Pacific.  Wildlife such as green sea turtles, “honu”, dolphins, “nai’a”, humpback whales, “kohola” (in winter season only), and flying fish, “malolo” are some of the critters we may see as we sail. Beautiful views of Oahu, Diamond Head and, on clear days, far in the distance, Molokai and Lanai can sometimes be seen. Please understand this is not “destination” sailing.  “Destination” is sailing.

Blasting in the New Year. Notice the dove in the starboard quarter.
